The Omaha Chinese Christian Church annual summer retreat of 2005 was held at Peru State College, about an hour and a half south of Omaha, Nebraska. Even though it's mostly OCCC organizing it, folks from all over the central Midwest come for the retreat! This year we had folks from Omaha NE, Lincoln NE, York NE, Des Moines IA, Ames IA, Kansas City MO, and even as far away as Colorado Springs CO!
I had the immense privilege of speaking to and hanging out with the youth, about a dozen awesome kids between 6th grade and 12th grade. Such wonderful kids, a real joy and treasure!
Still remember our memory verse for the weekend?
``Stand firm, then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.''
