The Currituck Beach Lighthouse in Corolla, NC is unique along the East Coast in that it is constructed out of brick, which gives it a nice reddish color, especially at sunrise and sunset. During opening hours from 10am to 6pm, the lighthouse is open for the public to walk up to the top and take a look around.
