ScaleSpace image analysis conference on the beautiful and very isolated island of Skye in northwest Scotland. ScaleSpace is a rather small community, only about 85 people in attendance this year. The remote location meant that conference-goers didn't have much to do besides talk with each other and network -- which is after all the main point of these things. June is supposed to have the best weather of the year in Scotland, but for most of the week Skye showed us her true color -- gray.
Still, the scenery is very dramatic,
a bit reminiscent of New Zealand's North Island.
