Gabe graduates from UNC with his M.S.! Yay; it was a tough two years but he made it through! Uncle Peter and Auntie Marilyn flew down from Seattle to see his commencement, and we all went to Kenan Stadium, along with 5,200 graduating students and all their family and friends. It was sweltering hot; poor Gabe had no shade out on the lawn with his all-black gown. The commencement speaker was Julius Chambers, a noted civil-rights attorney who had himself suffered racial discrimination when he was trying to go to college.
