Most of the Oak Island beaches are not swimmable, because the water quickly gets very deep with strong currents. Huge shipping barges slip right next to the shores of the island.
I gave Dan a wake-up call from this spot, but he could barely hear me over the strong winds. I suspect he thought me a bit nutty for being out there...
