Carolina Baptist Assembly at Fort Caswell, Oak Island, NC
Our church's fourth annual Labor Day retreat! This year the weekend before Labor Day was chosen, and we met for the first time at Fort Caswell on the beautiful NC beach! Of course, there's a downside to being on the Carolina coast in the middle of hurricane season...
We all had a great time -- there was good fellowship and games, half-decent food, and some wonderful speakers! On the English/youth side we had a guest speaker, Clark Daniels, a youth pastor from Charlotte and one of Tim's friends. He came with his wife Jennifer. The theme was "Fear Factor!", and the challenge was to fear God more than man, and be fearless in proclaiming the gospel.
The highlight of the retreat was the baptism on the last day, in the ocean, admist the oncoming Tropical Storm Gaston! Min's parents recently became Christians, and are going back to China soon, so they wanted to get baptized as soon as possible. It was quite exciting! Dan wrote a bit about it on one of his blogs, too.
