I needed to get outside after staying holed up inside for a few days working on a paper submission, so I hopped over to the Sarah P. Duke Gardens to walk around for a bit. Surprisingly, even in the dead of winter there were still blooms: some perennials, as well as some early cherries getting a head start on spring after an unseasonably warm week. I only brought one lens with me; it was a good learning experience of using the 70-200/2.8L with extension tubes or 1.4x teleconverter for macro shots. It was also kinda fun to dress down to T-shirt and jeans once again, so I could get down in the dirt to get these shots without worrying about tearing up my clothes.
